I now have collected the full set - including both the Lakes covers. They are one of my most treasured possessions.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7063908328061898266.post-29619367004292003222015-01-26T18:36:05.563+00:002015-01-26T18:36:05.563+00:00I bought an OS 1" Lake District tourist map f...I bought an OS 1" Lake District tourist map from an antique map shop in Hay-on-Wye dated from the 1920s and it is a work of art with the relief shading. It's a bit grubby, and well used - I wonder what stories it could tell? It will eventually be framed and hung on the wall. The BMC Harveys maps are also beautiful.Jayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15163120994783902652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7063908328061898266.post-19358181276108184382015-01-26T18:33:24.402+00:002015-01-26T18:33:24.402+00:00I bought an OS 1" Lake District tourist map f...I bought an OS 1" Lake District tourist map from an antique map shop in Hay-on-Wye dated from the 1920s and it is a work of art with the relief shading. My tourist map of the Lakes is littered with boyhood plans, some yet to realise.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16298215339426733968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7063908328061898266.post-9825795720181358732015-01-26T06:58:55.180+00:002015-01-26T06:58:55.180+00:00They are things of beauty to any hill goer. But as something for planning and inspiration back at home they were, and still are, wonderful. The relief shading is masterful and makes the topography leap out.FellBoundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13089687581260477621noreply@blogger.com
